Spring is finally here, and at Virginia Green, we’re ready to help your lawn thrive!

This year, with the delayed arrival of warm weather, we’re more eager than ever to get things rolling. Our Service Leaders are out in full force, as lawns begin to turn a vibrant green with the rising temperatures. We know many of you are starting to spend more time outdoors, and we’re here to ensure your lawn is at its best for all your spring activities.

So far, this winter has brought a mix of conditions, including recent snowfall. While the weather has occasionally delayed work, our Virginia Green Service Leaders have been out performing services whenever possible, targeting winter annuals and preparing lawns for spring. We've been applying lime and potassium to prepare lawns for the growing season ahead, and our team continues to refine their expertise through agronomic training. As daylight increases, fescue lawns will regain their rich green color throughout the month.

While we've had a cold, snowy start to the year, rest assured we’ll be back out preparing your lawn for a green spring as soon as the weather improves.

The vibrant colors of fall are all around us, and here at Virginia Green, we're seeing the benefits of this season's mild temperatures reflected in lush, healthy lawns. Our final treatment of the year will help keep your lawn in top shape by tackling pesky winter weeds like chickweed, henbit, and bittercress.

This year has brought unique challenges for lawn care. A short spring followed by a hot, dry summer tested the resilience of many lawns, and the surge of rain kept our team busy. Through it all, we sincerely appreciate your continued partnership and trust in Virginia Green. We understand this year’s weather had a greater impact on some lawns more than others, and we’re committed to helping them recover and thrive. September brought with it cooler weather and more frequent rain showers—perfect timing, as core aeration and seeding season is in full swing. Our crews have been out for a couple of weeks now, double core aerating and seeding with our proprietary blend of Virginia Green seed.
