Summer Lawn Care Starts with the Basics

As we move through the heart of summer, the combination of heat, humidity, and occasional dry conditions is creating stress for many lawns across our area. Proper watering and mowing practices are especially important right now. We recommend watering deeply in the early morning as needed and maintaining the recommended mowing height to help your lawn stay healthy and resilient. During extended dry periods, consider reducing mowing frequency to help conserve moisture and minimize additional stress on the turf.

We're also seeing increased activity from several common summer pests, including ticks, as well as ideal conditions for lawn diseases such as brown patch. Preventive care and early detection remain the best ways to avoid more significant problems later in the season.

Don't forget about your trees and shrubs, either. Heat, drought stress, insects, and disease can all impact landscape plants during the summer months, making regular monitoring especially important.

Thank you for trusting Virginia Green with your lawn and landscape. Our team is committed to helping you enjoy a healthy, beautiful property all season long, and we're always here if you have questions or need assistance.
