Message from Gil: Preparing for Winter & 2025

The vibrant colors of fall are all around us, and here at Virginia Green, we're seeing the benefits of this season's mild temperatures reflected in lush, healthy lawns. Our final treatment of the year will help keep your lawn in top shape by tackling pesky winter weeds like chickweed, henbit, and bittercress.

As the leaves continue to fall, it's important to keep them from piling up on your lawn. Leaves can block sunlight and trap moisture, making it tough for new grass to thrive. We recommend using your mower's mulching setting to chop up the leaves and use them on your flower beds, where they'll provide extra nutrients and help retain moisture.

Now is also a great time to get your irrigation system winterized if you haven't already done so. Remember to properly store any hoses or sprinklers to prevent damage during the cold months ahead.

If you had your soil tested in the spring, now is the perfect time to apply any recommended treatments we provided. If you haven't tested your soil yet, fall is a great time to take action. Virginia Green offers comprehensive soil testing, complete with specific recommendations to help your lawn thrive.

We're also beginning to sign customers up for our 2025 pest control programs. If you'd like to secure your spot on our schedule for next year, please reach out to us today!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we want to take a moment to express our appreciation for you. Thank you for choosing Virginia Green to care for your lawn. We look forward to continuing to serve you!

Warm regards,
