Message from Gil: Seasonal Tips, Savings, and What’s New for 2026
The vibrant colors of fall are all around us, and here at Virginia Green, we’re seeing this season’s mild temperatures paying off with lush, healthy lawns across the region. Our final treatment of the year is designed to keep your lawn strong through the winter by targeting cool-season weeds like chickweed, henbit, and bittercress.
As the leaves continue to fall, be sure to keep them from accumulating on your lawn. A thick layer of leaves can block sunlight and trap excess moisture, making it harder for new grass to grow. Using your mower’s mulching feature is a great way to break down leaves and repurpose them in your flower beds, where they’ll help lock in moisture and add nutrients to the soil.
It’s also the right time to winterize your irrigation system if you haven’t already. Be sure to drain and store hoses and sprinklers properly to protect them from freezing temperatures.
If you had your soil tested earlier this year, now is a great time to apply any recommended nutrients. If you haven’t done a soil test yet, fall is still an ideal time to start. Virginia Green offers detailed soil testing, complete with tailored recommendations to help your lawn thrive year-round.
We’re also now enrolling customers in our 2026 pest control programs. If you would like to reserve your spot for next season, please reach out to us today.
And this year, we’re excited to offer our Prepay Program earlier and to everyone. Keep an eye out for details coming your way soon, including how you can take advantage of a limited time discount when you prepay for 2026 services.
We’ve also revived our YouTube channel, where we’ll be sharing helpful tips, updates, and behind-the-scenes looks at what we do. Be sure to like and subscribe so you don’t miss out.
With Thanksgiving just ahead, we want to take a moment to thank you. We appreciate your trust in Virginia Green and look forward to continuing to care for your lawn in the year ahead.
